A Coastal Vintage Wedding at the Hotel Viking | Newport Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

Emma & Ryan had a beautiful coastal vintage wedding at the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island. Every detail was thoroughly thought through and full of Newport charm. Emma & Ryan met during her junior year at Salve Regina University. They went on a blind date setup by Emma’s college roommate and her boyfriend who happened to be Ryan’s cousin. They felt an instant connection as they walked through the haunted house at Fort Adams the weekend before Halloween. They made their relationship official shortly after at Mama Lucia’s cozy Italian restaurant. Flash forward 6 years later after graduations, new jobs, a new puppy, and a new home, they got engaged on Ocean Drive back in Newport, the place that means so much to their relationship. Which was why Newport was the perfect place for their dream wedding!

Emma wore a beautiful Lillian West gown with ivory lace and an open back with a button down train. The bodice is laced with a floral pattern and ballerina neckline with a sheath styled fit. Completing her look with a fingertip length veil with a beaded edge, a vintage lace clutch, & lace shoes from Bella Belle. Emma’s mom gifted her diamond studs from her original wedding band, such a thoughtful and beautiful gift. Miranda Lynn Hair & Beauty was the talented glam squad that did all the girls hair and makeup. Emma’s bridesmaids wore flowy dresses with a soft coastal blue.

Fleur Soiree made everyone’s jaw drop when she brought in the gorgeous florals. They consisted of a combination of blue hydrangeas, babies breath, peonies, & eucalyptus. The ceremony floral arbor was one of my favorites! Emma & Ryan chose to do their ceremony at Kay Chapel because of the historic feel and intimate setting. A perfect compliment to their Hotel Viking Wedding which is central to Newport and a symbol of this coastal town’s rich history.

After their ceremony we all hopped on the trolley to take advantage of the water views that Newport has to offer before heading back to the Hotel Viking. The cocktail hour and reception consisted of so many more details that had everyone swooning. Custom his/her drinks, monogramed espresso martinis, ice cream bar, & a gorgeous floral wall are just a few of the stunning details that stood out! Once the reception began the Silver Arrow Band kept the party going with their amazing music. And we finished off the night with some rooftop sunset photos, it was the perfect day! And I have to give a special shout out to Ashley Lynn Wedding & Events who kept the whole day organized and running smoothly.
