An Unforgettable Sunset Wedding at OceanCliff | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

Anna & Matt are sone of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Their lush summer sunset wedding at OceanCliff is one I will never forget. Every detail was perfectly planned and executed by Ashlie with Infinite Events. Anna’s vision for a timeless, classic, romantic summer wedding in Newport was brought to life by Ashlie and her incredible team.

You can’t help but fall in love with this couple. They are so kind, genuine and selfless and this is evident after spending just a few minutes with them. I could tell this moments into their engagement session. I love the way that Anna tells their love story…

From the bride: It’s 2013: Anna and Matt were in their first year at Villanova University both living in the same dorm and having all of the same classes while majoring in the pre-medical track. One day after a long biology lecture, Anna was walking into her dorm when Matt held the door for her and they started talking. Turns out Matt also had a special talent of doing magic tricks. Anna soon realized that was where the party was every night as she followed the laughter in the dorm all the way to Matt’s room. The line to see the magic tricks was out the door! Anna couldn’t even get a foot in to see these magic tricks so she went back to her dorm room. That same weekend, Anna had her first overnight shift with the student run ambulance company on campus known as Villanova EMS….and it turns out that Matt had his first overnight shift then too. They instantly became best friends and continued their friendship throughout the first year of college. After spending a summer apart, they realized their friendship was not just a friendship and decided to officially start dating. Fast forward 8 years later: Matt and Anna survived medical school together while living in a 500 square foot apartment during a pandemic, Matt is now a plastic surgeon, Anna is an emergency medicine physician, we bought a house and have an adorable 2.5 year old golden retriever named Tucker.

Growing up Anna spent a lot of time in Newport in the summer with her family and especially her mom. It was one of their favorite places to go together. When Matt proposed at the Cliff Walk it solidified the specialness of this place in Anna’s heart, and with her mom being gone they couldn’t think of a more appropriate place to have their dream wedding to both honor her and honor how special the location is to them now. They incorporated so many thoughtful and sentimental details to honor and include her mom in their special day. I know she was smiling looking down on them.

Giti from Botanica Wedding Florals did an incredible job with all the flowers. She incorporated white, ivory and soft pink roses, dahlias, hydrangeas, ranunculus & with greenery. It was a dreamy neutral palette that Anna wanted. It perfectly added to the gorgeous backdrop of OceanCliff’s ocean views without taking away from its natural beauty. Stephanie Ward & Rhode Island Wedding Hair were the talented glam team & Anna’s dress was a gorgeous mermaid fitted Berta design. Which could not have been more flattering on her. Completing the look with a long flowy cathedral veil. Sugared Fig Paperie designed a gorgeous custom suite that was so much fun to photograph. They specialize in creating luxury heirloom wedding stationery for couples who value timeless, old-world design & artisanal techniques.

One of my favorite parts of their wedding day was the hand written vows Anna & Matt wrote. Following their first look they had an intimate moment where they read their vows to one another. It was so sweet to capture and such a beautiful way to celebrate their union together. After their beautiful sunset ceremony they celebrated with all their family & friends. Boston Premier Band did an incredible job and kept the party going throughout the night. Delicious food, memorable speeches, and lots of dancing was the perfect way to end their dream day.
